As the Director of Research, Dr. Chan brings more than 10 years of research experience to Godbe Research. In addition to her management responsibilities, Dr. Chan oversees all stages of the research process, from design through analysis to reporting, ensuring that the project yields actionable results for meeting client objectives. Over the years, Dr. Chan has worked with organizations of different types and sizes, including government planning agencies, and corporate marketing and human resources departments, helping them generate insights to guide strategic planning and organizational improvements. Her expertise covers all major attitudinal research methods (i.e., surveys, focus groups and one-on-one interviews) and a broad range of analytical techniques that profile population clusters/segments of client interest, understand drivers of attitudes and behaviors, and predict likelihood of alternative event outcomes.
Prior to joining Godbe Research, Dr. Chan held senior positions at leading market research companies, including serving as the Director of Consulting Services at TNS (formerly NFO) Prognostics. She is a former faculty member at Cornell University. Her academic research, which has won numerous awards, has been presented at professional conferences and published as chapters in books and such journals as Organization Science and the Journal of Computer-Mediated Communication. Her formal education includes a doctorate in communication arts and sciences-mass media from Michigan State University, as well as master’s and bachelor’s degrees in communication from the University of Hawaii.
